The University of Rwanda (UR) has officially opened its undergraduate admissions for students who completed Senior Six (S6) in 2025. If you’re ready to begin your higher education journey, here’s everything you need to know — plus how Bentech can guide you through the process with ease.

Application Window and Eligibility

• Online applications are open from September 5 to September 18, 2025.

• Eligible applicants:

  Students who completed Senior Six in 2025

  Students with a 2025 Equivalence Certificate from NESA

General Application Guidelines

• The application is 100% online via here

• Application fees:
  • 5,000 RWF – Rwandan & EAC applicants

  • 6,000 RWF – Non-EAC applicants

• After payment, wait 13 minutes before continuing with your application.

• Admission decisions are competitive, based on academic performance and available space.

Steps for National Applicants

  1. Visit the admissions portal and click “New Application” to generate your Reference Number and PIN. Save them carefully.

  2. Pay the application fee using your Reference Number through:

       • Bank of Kigali (BK)

       • MTN Mobile Money

       • BK App

       • Urubuto System
     ⚠️ Note: Do not pay through BK Agents.
  3. Once payment is confirmed, log in at applications.ur.ac.rw/nesa with your Index Number and select up to three academic programs.

Steps for International Applicants and Those with Equivalence Certificates

• Generate your Reference Number and PIN.

• After payment, upload documents at applications.ur.ac.rw/equivalence

• Required documents:

        • Certified copy of your Equivalence Certificate (Rwandan system)

        • Certified copy of your S6 Certificate of Secondary Education

        • Copy of your valid passport (for international applicants) or National ID (for national applicants)
